Colony Alpha V

Colony Alpha V, also known as Earth Colony V and Earth 5, is a Federation settlement on the planet Santanis in the Alpha Quadrant. Established in 2237 by Human colonists from Earth, Alpha V was one in a series of seven new terraforming projects funded by the Mirimax Mineral Corporation. Control of the colony changed to Federation hands following a massive sell-off of corporate assests in 2351. One of its main exports are the coil matrix used in replicators.
