It provides a comparatively higher ability to "hang in the fight" than the [[Federation|Federation's]] [[standard shielding system]] thanks to a greater ability to dissipate heat and a higher energy input, this does however somewhat retard [[warp drive]] performance if the shield is engaged at full whilst at warp. <br />

The cruiser shielding system is also mounted on the [[Negh'var class]], which due to its newer [[warp core]] is able to operate with the shield at maximum performance, even whilst at warp with no adverse effects.<br />
