The planet was first discovered in 2132 by the [[Kressari]] in the [[Alpha Quadrant]] and later surveyed by the [[Vulcan]]s. Although it had a temperate climate and low surface radiation levels, it lacked any natural resources of value---making it unattractive to miners and other businesses. The [[Federation]] placed it on their list of planets fit for colonization in 2247. At least two attempts at civilian settlement never went beyond the planning stages. <br /> <br /> When the [[Skrreea]] came through the [[Bajoran wormhole]] and believed [[Bajor]] to be Kentanna, their mythical sanctuary, the [[Bajoran]] Provisional Government was forced to turn them away. Commander Benjamin Sisko of [[Starfleet]] and Major Kira Nerys of the Bajoran Militia suggested Draylon II as an alternative, but the Skrreea resisted; however, they were ultimately forced to relocate there.
