<p><b>New page</b></p><div>The '''Mutara Sector''', also referred to as the '''Genesis Sector''' is located inside [[Federation]] space near the [[Klingon]] border. The sector is filled with numerous stars, planets, and related phenomena (including the Mutara Nebula, until 2285) but nearly all are uninhabitable. The two major star systems are the [[Mutara System]] and the [[Ceti Alpha System]]. It is also home to [[Regula]], a small planetoid home to a Federation science station.<br />

The sector was forever changed in 2285, when Khan Noonien Singh and his [[Augment]]s hijacked the USS ''Reliant'' and stole the Genesis Device. Triggering it in the Mutara Nebula, Singh managed to kill himself and his crew but not his intended target---Capt. James T. Kirk. The result was the formation of the [http://memory-alpha.org/wiki/Genesis_(planet)| Genesis Planet]. Unsure of the planet's implications, the Federation restricted travel through the sector. Later that same year, a [[Klingon]] incursion resulted in a fight between Kruge's [[Bird of Prey class| Bird-of-Prey]] and the ''USS Enterprise''.
