	Teth was born and raised in Germany, Earth, alongside his twin sister R'lara. His parents worked as researchers at a pharmaceutical laboratory and they lead relatively mundane but happy lives together. He and his sister attended a school for gifted children together and did quite well academically. One summer, when Teth was around the age of fourteen, his family took a trip to Axanar for a medical conference in the city oh Nortaxa. While his parents where at the conference, he and R'lara were supposed to stay in their hotel. But being obstinate teenagers, they decided to wander off and explore the city. Teth became separated from his sister and very lost. Unable to find his way back, he inadvertently wandered into the city's underbelly where he was robbed and nearly beaten to death by a group of unknown thugs. He woke up four days later in a hospital on earth recovering from multiple bone fractures and a severe concussion. Though he mostly recovered (his sense of balance was never quite the same) the attack had a profound effect on the young Caitian. While he was in therapy to come to terms with what had happened, he acquired an affinity for psychology, and from there decided that that was what he wanted to pursue as a career. He wanted to help others the way his counselors and doctors had helped him. And what better place to do it than in Starfleet? With all the various wars and conflicts, he was certain that there were many people he could help.When Teth turned sixteen, he was accepted to Starfleet Academy where he pursued studies in psychology with the hopes of eventually becoming a counselor. At the age of twenty, he graduated from the academy and received a degree in exo-psychology. From there, he was stationed at Starfleet Medical on earth where he continued his studies for another two years and worked as an assistant counselor, primarily working with post traumatic stress patients.At the age of twenty four, he was transferred to the USS Glasgow, where he served as the ship's counselor.
