<p>1 revision</p> <p><b>New page</b></p><div>The &#039;&#039;&#039;Zhamur System&#039;&#039;&#039; is located in the [[Alpha Quadrant]], roughly half-way between the [[Federation]] worlds of [[Betazed]] and Capella. It&#039;s dying star is surrounded by eight [[Class C]] and [[Class D]] planets, and it is home to one of the largest asteroid fields in the quadrant. The planets are continuously pummeled by meteor strikes making them extremely dangerous to survey. The system, however, borders one of the Federation&#039;s most important lines of supply and communication to member worlds such as [[Cait]] and [[Grazer]] and strategically-important posts such as [[Starbase G-6]]. For decades, the system has been a favorite ambush site for pirates, marauders, and raiders alike preying on merchantmen.<br /> <br /> During the [[Dominion War]], the [[Dominion]] forces used the system as a staging area for operations against Betazed and later to occupy the shipping and communication lanes. In mid-2375, shortly before the recapture of the planet by the [[Federation Alliance]], the Dominion began to leave the sector but left a small contingent of [[Breen]] ships in the system to continue harassing attacks. To secure its flanks for the push on [[Cardassian]] space, [[Starfleet Command]] sent a patched-together unit of ships to clear the system called Task Force Forrest.
