Flight Control Duty Uniform

Originally known as helm, CONN Officer or Astro Navigator, this position is now combined for all the functions of flight control and navigation with a starship. A Flight Control Officer must always be present on the bridge of a starship when underway. While all of the functions of flight control is computer assisted and automated, personel are still required when circumstances require manual flight control and impromptu flight navigation deviation.

The Assistant Chief Flight Control Officer is the deputy to the Chief Flight Control Officer aboard a starship, starbase or facility and is able to assume the duties of Chief Flight Control Officer on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
