The Seldonis IV Convention outlined the treatment of prisoners of war. The Convention prohibits torture of prisoners and requires that they be provided with adequate food, shelter, medical attention, and other such basic necessities. Most major powers in the galaxy are signatories, including the Federation, the Cardassian Union, the Klingon Empire, and the Romulan Star Empire.
