Starbase 12 is an orbiting command post in the Gamma 400 system, established in 2163 as a test of Starfleet's remote construction abilities. It remains an excellent location for starship maintenance, as well as coordinating much of the defense traffic for the inner core of the Federation. It is also noted for its social scene.
